Things kick-off this weekend, Saturday 8th July, with our biggest event of the year, Rock the Horse, which is back for its third incarnation...

We have a great line-up of bands, duos and solos for you to see, plus this year we will be ending the evening with John Griffin’s Flip Side Retro Disco inside the pub.

Food will be available all day: From 12–5pm a team of people who are raising funds for Brampton Bowls Club will be serving items including; bacon rolls, sandwiches, chips, cakes etc. from the village hall. Then from 5–8pm the pub will be serving BBQ inc. burgers, hot dogs & chips, plus TASTY BOWLS inc. chilli & curry, plus FILLED JACKET POTATOES. We look forward to seeing you for what should be a great day!

Other music events coming up soon include:

Sunday 13th August from 2pm

We also have live theatre outside the pub as Circle 67 makes a welcome return with their Shorter Summer Shakespeare, this year it's The Two Gentlemen of Verona on Sunday 23rd July starting promptly at 2pm – at about an hour in length you can enjoy it over a leisurely drink!

Please don’t forget our other regular events and remember that we also offer food during most sessions. You can find details, including menus, on our website and social media pages and please book in advance to guarantee availability.

News: We are really pleased to announce the appointment of our new chef, Jonny Riordan. Jonny grew up locally and has worked in the hospitality sector for most of his career, including at a number of local pubs and restaurants. Jonny has previously worked for us on a casual basis (he was our first paid chef after we re-opened) and his Sunday lunches have always received great feedback from our customers. Jonny has a passion for cooking and an enthusiasm to develop the food offering at The Racehorse -- so look out for his new menus over the next few months. Please help us make Jonny and his partner, Tanya, feel welcome in the village and to the pub when you see them around.

Thank you for your continued support, we hope you have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you at The Racehorse soon,

The Westhall Community Pub Management Committee
